Productivity Tracker: Know What Your AI Is Really Worth

What your AI agents finished, what it is worth and what it cost.

The Productivity Tracker is the agent for AI ROI measurement in the Ai1 platform by MyZone AI: it values what your AI agents finished in skilled-hours as a low to high range, sets that against AI cost and your team's time, and keeps a private dashboard plus a client edition you control.

We'll show you the Productivity Tracker on your own AI work.

What the Productivity Tracker does for you

  • Measures finished work

New agents, software changes, reports, recipes and skills are valued by the skilled-hours of work they replace. Duplicates count once, and a revision counts only the change.

  • Values it as a range

Each piece of work is valued in skilled-hours and dollars from low to high: your own staff cost at the low end, an outside firm's rate at the high end.

  • Sets value against cost

Value is compared with the AI cost and the time your people spent. Cash returns are labelled as estimates, and with no AI cost data no return figure is shown.

  • Keeps a private dashboard

Your full dashboard stays private. It uses your workspace's own house style if it has one, otherwise a clean neutral look.

  • A client edition you control

A share-safe version of the same numbers. It starts with no agent names. Only the names you approve appear, and every other agent shows as Other agents.

How the Productivity Tracker differs from counting AI usage

Counting AI usage shows how much the tools ran, not what they produced. The Productivity Tracker counts only finished work, values it in skilled-hours from your own staff cost to an outside firm's rate, and sets it against AI cost and your team's time. It reports team-wide numbers only, stores no message text, and shows anything it cannot measure as not measured.

How this differs from the Time & Cost Tracker: the Time & Cost Tracker works out hours and AI cost per customer for billing, while the Productivity Tracker measures the overall return on your AI work.

From your request to a finished result

It runs inside your Ai1 system and works in the tools you already use. You ask, it works, it reports, and it stops for your OK where it matters.

How the Productivity Tracker works: you ask through the Comms Hub and Ai1 runs the steps: check, set up, backfill, approve names and daily refresh. You approve at: set up, approve names. It returns a private dashboard.

Step 1: Check

A health check shows which data your workspace has and what will show as not measured.

You approve

Step 2: Set up

You confirm your hourly rate, the rates for each kind of output and your timezone in chat.

Step 3: Backfill

It measures recent past work so your dashboard starts with history, not a blank page.

Step 4: Approve names

You choose which agent names may appear in the client edition. Until then it shows none.

Step 5: Daily refresh

The daily refresh ships switched off. It starts only when you agree to switch it on.

  • You want to know if AI is paying off
It shows value against AI cost and human time.
  • You are planning where to invest next
It shows which kinds of work return the most.
  • A number looks wrong
It explains how it was valued and what data is missing.
  • You want to see how a new report would be valued
It explains skilled-hours, the low and high rates, and what does and does not count.

What you get

  • A private dashboard of finished work, its value, AI cost and team time
  • A plain English summary with any gaps named
  • Value shown as a low to high range in skilled-hours and dollars
  • A client edition that shows only the agent names you approve
  • A clear explanation of how any number was valued

What it won't do

Example: weekly value report

Example with a fictional company. Names, people and figures are invented to show the agent's output. Any resemblance to a real company or person is unintended.

What it was asked: How productive was the team last week, and is our AI work paying for itself?

Example report
Four summary tiles showing the value of finished work as a low to high range, AI cost, a range of human hours and an estimated value per dollar of cost, above a five-sentence summary and a five-week trend table.
The week in plain English
A table of outputs listing kind, skilled-hours replaced, the share counted so far, hours counted and low and high values, with a not-yet-used agent and a duplicate counting nothing, plus the honesty rules and value by kind of work.
How each piece of work was valued
A day by day table of AI cost and human hours, a table setting value against cost at the low and high ends, and three labelled gaps including task completions marked not measured.
The cost side, and what could not be measured
A list of suggested agent names each awaiting the owner's decision, a client edition view showing one Other agents line, and five setup steps from health check to a daily refresh that is switched off.
Client edition and setup

What it found: 3 findings, with the numbers

  • Last week the studio's AI agents finished work worth 65.5 skilled-hours, valued at $3,603 at its own staff cost and $9,105 at outside firm rates, against $413 of AI cost and an estimated 32 to 44 hours of human time.
  • Each dollar of cost returned an estimated 1.4 to 3.7 times its value in finished work; software changes gave the most value, and task-board completions show as not measured, not zero.
  • The client edition shows only agent names the owner approves: none are approved yet, so every agent appears as Other agents, and the daily refresh stays switched off until the owner agrees.

The agent's own valuation and summary code ran on invented weekly totals and invented outputs, using the dataset 979 guide's rules: each finished output is valued in the skilled-hours it replaces, counted at half on delivery and in full after 14 days without being reversed (new agents and software only once in use), then priced from the staff cost to an outside firm's rate. The ranges, estimates and summary sentences come from that code. No real usage, billing or time data was read and no rate, name or setting was changed. Run date: .

Every Ai1 agent works under human approval. Here is how the Productivity Tracker keeps you in control.

  • It reports team-wide numbers only. Per-person views are switched off.
  • No message text is ever stored. Human time is estimated from timestamps and word counts only.
  • Anything it cannot measure shows as not measured, never as zero. With no AI cost data it shows no return figure.
  • The daily refresh ships switched off and starts only after you agree to switch it on.

Frequently asked questions about the Productivity Tracker

How do you measure AI productivity in a way people trust?

Count only finished work, never time, tokens or lines of code. The Productivity Tracker counts duplicates once and counts work at half value when delivered, in full only after 14 days without being reversed. New agents and software must also be in use.

Anything it cannot measure shows as not measured, never as zero, and estimates are labelled as estimates.

How should a small business estimate its AI return on investment?

Compare the value of finished work with the AI cost and your team's time. The Productivity Tracker values work in skilled-hours as a range, from your own staff cost to an outside firm's rate, so you see both ends, because the same work is worth less if your own staff would do it.

Cash returns are labelled as estimates, and with no AI cost data it shows no return figure.

Can you share an AI value dashboard with clients safely?

Yes, if you control what it names. The Productivity Tracker keeps your full dashboard private and gives you a client edition of the same numbers. It starts with no agent names, shows only the names you approve, and every other agent appears as Other agents.

Does the Productivity Tracker track individual people or read messages?

No. It reports team-wide numbers only, per-person views are switched off, and it is not a performance measure for any person. No message text is ever stored: human time is estimated from timestamps and word counts only.
